Privacy Policy

This policy covers Run for Office only. It does not describe any other app.

Who we are

Oliktric LLC is a limited liability company organized in Wyoming, United States. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Oliktric LLC, and "the app" means Run for Office. It does not mean any other mobile application we publish.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Username. Chosen by you. It is public. It appears on in-app leaderboards that other players can see.
  • First name. Used to address you inside the app. It is not shown on leaderboards.
  • ZIP code. Used only to determine your state, so civics lessons match that state. We do not use it as precise location, and we do not collect GPS. The ZIP code itself is not public. The state derived from it can appear next to your username on leaderboards.
  • Age band. You choose 13–17 or 18 and over. We do not collect a date of birth. The app is for people 13 and over, and sign-up has no option below that. We use the band only to record that choice.

Information created as you play

Scores and progress: cities cleared, stars, quiz progress, and Gauntlet results. Usernames and scores appear on public leaderboards inside the app. Progress is stored with your account.

You can create an account and play with no Sign in with Apple. That account is tied to the installation on your device. Losing the phone, or deleting the app, loses that username and progress.

Sign in with Apple is optional. Using it is what lets Apple restore the same account on another device. Deleting the app does not delete an Apple-linked account.

Sign in with Apple

Sign in with Apple is optional. You can create an account and play without it. We do not collect a password either way.

If you use it, Apple gives us a user identifier for that Apple Account, so we can recognize the same account on another device. Apple may also share an email address. That address can be a private relay address rather than your real one. We use the identifier, and any email Apple shares, only to sign you in and restore the account. The email is not shown on leaderboards.

Purchases

The download is free. It is not a paid app. Optional packs are three non-consumable in-app purchases at $2.99 each. We do not collect payment card numbers. Purchases are on iOS, through Apple. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase succeeded, so the app can tell which packs are unlocked. Unlocked packs can be restored from the Apple account that bought them.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or a password. Sign in with Apple does not give us a password.
  • We do not serve advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not use a third-party crash reporter, and we do not use a separate purchase-entitlement service.

Why we collect it

We use the information above to create and maintain your account, keep your progress, operate leaderboards, show state-relevant civics content, and record purchase confirmations. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They act on our behalf, may use the information only to provide their service to us, and may not use it for their own purposes.

We do not use advertising networks or analytics brokers.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users. Otherwise, we do not share it.

How long we keep it

We keep account information for as long as your account exists. Deleting the app does not delete an Apple-linked account. If you never used Sign in with Apple, the account is tied to that installation, and deleting the app or losing the phone loses the username and progress.

If you delete your account in the app, we remove the username, first name, ZIP code, age band, progress, leaderboard rows, and sign-in record. If the account used Sign in with Apple, that deletion also revokes the Apple token. Anonymous totals that do not identify you, such as how many players have cleared a city, stay. If you ask by email instead, we remove the account and its associated data within 30 days, except where we must retain a record to meet a legal or tax obligation.

Your choices

In the app, open My Progress and tap Delete my account. That erases the account. If you used Sign in with Apple, it also revokes the Apple token. Deleting the app does not delete an Apple-linked account. You can also ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it by writing to privacy@oliktric.com. Include your username. We respond within 30 days and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state law. The rights described above are available to everyone who uses the app, regardless of where they live. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Children

The app is for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Creating an account requires choosing an age band of 13–17 or 18 and over. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we delete the account and its data.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, write to privacy@oliktric.com and we will remove it. Include the username if you know it.

Security

Account data is protected in transit and at rest. The app cannot write leaderboard scores directly. A server checks each result, and database rules block access to other players' records. We do not collect a password. No system is perfectly secure.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will post the update here before it takes effect.
